What is Astragalus?
The genus Astragalus comprises nearly 2,000 separate species of shrubs and herbs. It is native to temperate regions in the Northern Hemisphere. The root is used to make medicine, and it can be taken to help alleviate colds, seasonal allergies, upper respiratory infections, fibromyalgia, swine flu, and anemia. Research shows that it can help strengthen and regulate the immune system. And, it is used for kidney disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, high blood pressure, angina, menopausal symptoms, asthma, and irregular menstruation symptoms.
Astragalus is a key ingredient in the Wellness Plus product, Hormone Hero. The herb has been used in Chinese medicine to improve immunity, heart health, and menopausal symptoms for centuries. It has also been used for colds and flu, and it provides anti-aging properties.
In Chinese medicine, Astragalus helps alleviate imbalances that result in a lack of appetite, organ prolapse, diarrhea, fatigue, or uterine bleeding. Some people use astragalus as a general tonic to protect the liver and fight bacteria and viruses.
