Energy medicine harnesses the potential of electromagnetic, light, and sound interventions to heal your energy body. Most people associate energy medicine with practices like chakra balancing, acupuncture, reiki, qigong, or sound therapies that seek to heal your energy body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ayurveda, and shamanic traditions are strikingly different from conventional Western medicine. Western medicine is centered on anatomical and biochemical models. However, the ancient indigenous medical systems focus on healing methods that are based on the body as an energy field. Whether it’s doshas in Ayurveda or qi in TCM, these systems postulate that vital energy controls the processes of our brain and body. Healing is brought about by manipulating the flow of energy at specific energy points and balances the body’s electromagnetic field.

In our modern culture of wellness, ancient energy medicines are gaining followers. More people are trying shamanism or Ayurveda even despite critics who dismiss “crystal-mania” medicine. However, a shift is occurring as scientific researchers are looking into the complex biofield of electromagnetic frequencies and light waves that act as our control center for mental and physical functioning. Even researchers from esteemed organizations like Harvard and NASA are conducting studies into the electrodynamic world we live in.

Furthermore, these studies are looking at how both natural and man-made frequencies change our human cells. Modern and ancient medicine systems may have found some common theoretical ground. The result may be the creation of innovative tools to optimize the human energy body.

Anna Bjurstam, a wellness expert, states, “Indigenous people have been the knowledge-keepers of energy medicine for centuries, but the scientific community is now taking it seriously, so the world will listen. The invisible will become visible, and energy medicine will become as important as wellness itself.”

The result will be disruptions in conventional Western medicine such as new technologies to positively impact the body’s electromagnetic fields. Frequency therapies that use light, sound, and electromagnetic interventions will gain acceptance outside the wellness world.

In addition, there will be additional scrutiny of man-made electromagnetic frequencies in our IoT world, such as 5G. Concern about the potentially dangerous energy will increase. New solutions to shield us from 5G will also increase. We may see more wellness centers and travel destinations open that offer ancient energy medicines blended with modern solutions.

Discoveries About the Energy Body Will Change Western Medicine

Modern medicine does have some effective uses of our electromagnetic fields, such as MRIs and electrocardiograms. Future technology may give us even deeper insights by using bioelectricity, which is the “organized lightning” that our cells use to grow and communicate.

Biologist Michael Levin at Harvard’s elite Wyss Institute states: “When cells and tissues are alive, there’s a bioelectric potential between the inside of a cell and the outside…So… bioelectricity is the spark of life. But more importantly, the bioelectric potential is not just a byproduct of living; it is a medium that cells exploit to communicate with each other and to form networks that are much more than the sum of their parts.”

The future of medicine is scientists like Levin uncovering the bioelectric “language” that cells use to coordinate everything from their own regeneration to cancer suppression.

New Directions in Energy Medicine

Energy medicine is experiencing innovative new directions coming from the scientific world. These are a few examples.

  1. Biophotonics. Biophotons are particles of light that radiate from the cells of every living thing and transmit cell-to-cell communication. Some hypotheses suggest that this biophotonic web of light may be crucial for the overall regulation of our biological systems. New therapies may use lasers or lighted crystals to bring healing to tissues and organs. They may also be used to modulate the body’s energetic systems. Some physicians are using bioresonance therapies to harmonize the biophysical fields of the body.
  2. Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF). NASA scientist Dr. Thomas Goodwin found that tissues exposed to the correct pulse electromagnetic field (PEMF) see a 300 percent increase in mitochondria, which are responsible for aerobic capacity and restoring tissues to wellbeing. PEMF frequency healing is now being used in more hospitals and wellness destinations, and use-at-home devices are now available to address pain and inflammation.
  3. Optogenetics. Neurobiologists are using optogenetic tools, which excite neurons using light. This enables them to map the brain’s connections and activate and silence brain circuits. These tools may be used to treat pain, blindness, epilepsy, and depression.
  4. Electroceuticals. Electromagnetic pharmacology is an emerging branch of medicine that wirelessly activates treatments remotely. Radio waves may be used to activate insulin production, gene therapy, or the immune system.

Solutions for Exposure to Negative Energy

The human body operates at about a 40-hertz frequency. In today’s world, we are exposed to many man-made electromagnetic frequencies from base stations, cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, power lines, appliances, and more. As Sputnik’s researchers note: “We now live in an intensely wireless, networked world and are immersed in an invisible sea of signals, with our bodies just another conduit. As the Internet of Things (IoT) peaks in the next five years, electromagnetic pollution will become the new public health issue. Both anxiety and solutions will rise.”

Electromagnetic pollution will increase exponentially. 5G requires more cell towers to be located together, and the systems will release a huge amount of higher-energy photons into our environments. Climate change and extreme weather are disrupting the electromagnetic field as well. Humans are being exposed to what some scientists call dirty electricity.

The World Health Organization classifies wireless radiations as a class 2B carcinogen. Yet, the CDC contradicts the WHO by claiming no evidence exists to support the assertion. The studies on electromagnetic pollution and its effect on human health are contradictory. However, public health officials and scientists are paying more attention to whether electromagnetic pollution is creating additional stress and disease.

Solutions may include homes, schools, and workspaces that are designed to maintain a healthy human energy field. Engineers will devise solutions that help shield us from dangerous EMFs. Geo-location-based apps will identify areas of high geopathic and energy stress.

Final thoughts

Science is beginning to validate many key ancient energy medicine principles. For example, scientists at Seoul National University have confirmed the existence of the body’s meridians, which they call the “primo-vascular system.” They consider this to be a crucial component of the cardiovascular system, as well as the physical basis of the Acupuncture Meridian System.

Conventional Western medicine and ancient energy medicine systems are at a pivotal point. The next few years will see innovations in medicine and technology that enhances how our energy networks organize our brains and bodies. Interventions in the electromagnetic and biophotonic fields should help prevent disease while increasing mental and physical health. It will create entirely new medical approaches, new products and new business models.

There will likely be some new items in the marketplace that don’t live up to expectations. Unfortunately, energy healing does attract some quackery and exploitation. But, Hard science will validate some ancient energy approaches and invalidate others. Ancient energy medicines will teach Western medicine a few things, and scientific breakthroughs will point to new directions in wellness.

The wellness world has a reputation for mindfulness, self-awareness, and spiritual healing. Now biologists, physicists, and neuroscientists are discovering the mechanics of human energy fields, how they intertwine with other energy fields, and how we all are connected through the energy fields of the universe. In fact, science may be coming one step closer to defining consciousness itself.
