MY EXPERIENCE AT DR. JOE DISPENZA’S 3-DAY EVENT

Just two weeks ago, I joined Dr. Joe Dispenza’s event for the first time in my life in Barcelona, my city!

I have been following Joe Dispenza’s work for years, having read two of his books and familiarizing myself with some of his meditations. I did not know what I was gonna find there. Although what he teaches about meditation seemed very logical to me, I hadn’t fully implemented it.

I work in integrative medicine, so I know these tools are incredibly useful, but I still had a misconception about meditation.

I had always been told that meditation was the art of “clearing the mind,” but I am a very restless person. Trying to clear my mind while meditating was very challenging, making me nervous and thinking that I had to find other ways to relax, such as reading or walking.

But it was this explanation of meditation as not thinking, that made the process difficult for me and prevented me from trying enough. Nevertheless, I started meditating some days, for 10-15 minutes, and I did notice some relaxation, but that was it.

Then I attended Joe Dispenza’s event. There, my life changed. If I had to use two words to describe this event, they would undoubtedly be life-changing and mind-blowing.

First of all, imagine meditating in a room with 3,000 people; the energy is incredible. It’s as if there is a group energy that I’m sure interacts with yours and merges while you also meditate, increasing vibrations and sensations. I have no doubt that this is the case, and that an event with Joe would not be the same without so many people in the room.

It was amazing to see 3,000 people attentive, focused, with positive energy, wanting to learn, and striving to be better individuals. Everyone had their goals, including people with physical disabilities wanting to heal. It was truly an expansive experience.

There wasn’t a single empty chair! No one missed the event. It was extraordinary.

Joe Dispenza is a potent leader; he has unique communication skills, very charismatic, with a touch of humor that sometimes makes you feel like you’re in a comedy monologue. He motivates you to be better, to be disciplined, and you learn about neuroscience, meditation, and you laugh non-stop. It’s a really long event, and it’s crucial that the speaker is not monotonous, so that before meditation begins, half the room hasn’t fallen asleep–especially after lunch!

In this event he explains the foundation of his teaching. He repeats several phrases that left a mark on me:

  • Where you put your attention is where you put your energy.
  • Your brain and body don’t know the difference between having an actual experience in your life and just thinking about the experience – neurochemically, it’s the same.
  • Your personality is made up of how you think, act, and feel. It is your state of being. Therefore, your same thoughts, actions, and feelings will keep you enslaved to the same past personal reality. However, when you as a personality embrace new thoughts, actions, and feelings, you will inevitably create a new personal reality in your future.

And many more!

Basically, his main idea is that if our beliefs don’t change, we will always end up acting the same way. Our beliefs make us behave, think, and feel in a particular way; this set is what is called “personality.” And this personality makes us live a certain type of reality. You well know that the reality you perceive is not the same as your partner, your friends, or your colleagues perceive. This is because each one has a different personality because they have different beliefs.

So what would happen if I change my beliefs through meditation, visualizing the new beliefs I want to have, letting go of those that don’t serve me? We will act, think, and feel differently, and then we will have a different personality. This will make us perceive reality differently, and finally, we will be living the life we want and deserve.

If I wake up in the morning, open WhatsApp messages, my phone, check emails, my schedule, etc., my brain automatically goes to those past and predictable future emotions, making me start reacting the same way I do every day.

But instead, if I can choose to start the day with meditation, and visualize the way I want to live my life, in an unlimited way, without rules, and without prohibitions.  And if while visualizing this possibility that exists in my future I accompany it with an elevated emotion, my brain will accept that possibility as real and it will be recorded in my mind.

It’s very important to maintain that gratitude, that love you feel when visualizing that possibility you’re creating anew, or that belief you’re trying to change throughout the day.  Doing so, you are starting to change, and little by little, day by day, you will change your personality, which will change the way you see life, and inevitably, you will be living the life that you wanted to create.

This is the magic of meditation. Is it easy? No! It requires consistency, being aware of your habits to avoid going to the same past and future emotions, because what the mind wants is to feel comfortable. When you start creating a new present and future, the mind will feel so uncomfortable that it will start screaming at you to go back to the same. That’s when you have to realize it, stop your mind, and keep creating from the unlimited possibilities of the quantum field.

During our days there, we did several meditations, from 40 minutes to an hour. I went with no expectations since I wasn’t someone who meditated regularly, but what I experienced, what I felt in two of those meditations, was a life-changing experience. I felt a peace sensation so deep, I still can’t explain. I felt I was healing at that same moment.

Understanding that the key to everything is within us, that we have a tendency to look outside for what we already have inside inherently. We are creators, we are healers, we are light. And we have forgotten this, living this 24/7 productivity life. We continue to look outside, driven by our stress hormones, seeking dopamine highs to feel better, distracting ourselves with Instagram, scrolling, messages, and emails, to remain disconnected from the power we have within.

Since then, I get up every day an hour earlier to meditate EVERY DAY, and I try to maintain that feeling throughout the day. Is it easy? No! Do I feel the same sense of well-being every day as I did that weekend? Neither! But that doesn’t stop me from trying, and being aware that if I want to change, I will have to work to achieve it. And that work will make me even prouder of myself.

If you have never listened to Joe Dispenza, I recommend you listen to his podcast, read some of his books, start meditating with his help or with other meditations, it doesn’t matter! And my advice, at least 30 minute meditation everyday first time in the morning before doing anything else is what will really be useful.

And above all, remember, the power is within you. Stop looking outside for what you already have inside. It’s just another distraction that will divert you from your path to healing or be a better version of yourself.
