Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme Disease)

Borrelia burgdorferi is a spirochete bacterium that is the causative agent of Lyme disease. It is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected blacklegged tick, and can cause a wide range of symptoms including fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash. If left untreated, it can spread to other parts of the body and cause more serious complications.
